Annual Events
In October, as part of the subject called "Industry and Citizens," all the first year students participate in a three-day internship program. They select and organize the training venue by themselves and experience life in the workforce as a student.

Another school initiative is the "Life Plan Presentation." This program requires students to present their life plan in front of their peers, parents and teachers. A key component of this program is goal setting and how to achieve it.

Just before the summer holidays set in, the school holds "a twilight concert," where the cultural activity clubs perform their accomplishments with the help of over 300 volunteer students from the sports teams. The whole school community and public at large come to watch and enjoy their performances. Every year over 700 people visit the concert.

Our school emphasizes the promotion of intercultural education. Students can take part in the overseas seminar trip as a part of an elective subject called "Cross-Cultural Understanding". To this end, we are proud to be linked with Palmerston North Girls' High School, our sister school on North Island of New Zealand, since 1990.

Junior high students are admitted to our school for one day in October. More than 1,000 students come from all over Gifu Prefecture to participate in this program and experience high school life at our school.

In November, the so-called "Sun Fair," which can be translated into "Industrial Education Festival", is held every year. This festival aims to show the public in general what students of vocational education have been working on.

Another big volunteer activity is the cleaning of the Arata River. The students from "Environmental Technology studies" take a leading role in cleaning the river with 300 students in the middle of March.
